We are doing the whole real estate thing at the moment.....so much to take in.
Anyway, we have to think about being either near Alpine helicopters over the bridge or near the airport.
We think the area around Lake view heights towards Westbank are very nice.
An agent told us today that because the new bridge was going in that this would push up prices in this area, what are your thoughts?Told poss. $50-$100k is this realistic?
Our motive isn't to make a return on investment it is whether to dive in and buy something now before prices are pushed out of our reach.
Obviously we would prefer to rent for six months, however if Westbank is looking to go up in value we feel it is more sensible to buy.
Off out tomorrow with an agent a.m, any tips on places we shouldn't miss, having two children I worry about an area with a good school or two.
Thanks for all the feedback on milk!
Misplaced Canadian, are you in town and do you work with Helicopterts too???

Initially, prices will go up on the west side of the bridge, until the population grows some more, and makes the new bridge just as much of a headache as the old one. If your hubby's eventual long term job is at Alpine Helicopters then buying over there will probably be better in the long run, but if his job will actually be at the airport then buying on this side would be better. You really wouldn't want the commute for long term.
The rental market here is very tight, 0.5% so I've heard.
There is a highly rated elementary school in Rose Valley on the west side, and another one in the Lower Mission on the Kelowna side. All schools teach the same general curriculum (sp), I think that alot of the differences in ratings comes from the quality of family life that the children come from (some schools have more single parent families (lower income) than others).
If hubby will work at Alpine : Check out Lakeview heights, Rose Valley, Shannon Lake. If hubby will work at the airport, check out South Rutland, North East Rutland, Black Mountain, Ellison, North Glenmore and even Lake Country.
You're welcome re: MILK! LOL......
We'll see you on Sunday!!
