Well it just reminds me of "Little House on the Prairie". Lots of green space very oldy worldy and I only drove through the town to get to Kettle Valley Steam Railway, but definately going to go back to do some shopping.

Summerland has experienced problems with their water supply. Although a lot of the Okanagan Valley applies water restrictions in the summer months, Summerland's growth has put even more demand on their system.

A new water treatment system was introduced recently and there have been kinks to iron out, but hopefully they have been resolved. Here are a couple of links talking about the new system....

You can visit the District of Summerland and Summerland Chamber of Commerce websites for more information about the area:

Tracie summed it up nicely in her post above! ... One small main street, with a very quite peaceful feel to the area, although probably way too small for someone used to the bigger towns/cities.

It's probably in line with a small village feel in the UK (well, kinda)
